Tottenham Can Still Finish 3rd, or Even 2nd

Tottenham currently find themselves just 5 points behind Manchester City in 2nd and a single point behind Chelsea in 3rd place. A glance at the remaining fixtures might make you believe that rather than simply hanging on for Champions League qualification, Spurs can in fact finish as high as 2nd.
A Tricky Time for City
Manchester City have 5 very tricky fixtures remaining this season, with the first of those being their next game against Chelsea at The Etihad. They then have 4 very tough away games for the remainder of the season which take them to Everton, Man United, White Hart Lane and Swansea.
Given that City have won only 6 of their 13 away games this season there is every possibility that they will drop between 6 and 10 more points before the season is out, so the only question is can Tottenham take advantage?
Tottenham's Remaning Fixtures
Despite some common misconceptions Tottenham are actually one of the most consistent teams in the league right now, where the likes of Chelsea have failed to remain unbeaten for more than 4 consecutive games since the start of the season Spurs are currently on a run of 10 Premier League games without defeat, and even though they would have been disappointed with dropped points against QPR, Norwich and Stoke in that stretch their record is still amongst the best in the league, if they can keep this run going they are certain to gain ground on City and Chelsea.
Tricky Fixtures Remaining:
(H) v Arsenal
(A) v Liverpool
(H) v Everton
(A) v Chelsea
(H) v Man City
Like most of the other big 4 sides Spurs have 5 tricky fixtures remaining but with the big bonus of having already played United twice. The other bonus is that whilst 5 of Manchester City's games and 3 of Chelsea's remaining tough fixtures are away from home Tottenham only have 2 remaining tough fixtures on the road.
Having only lost twice at White Hart Lane this season there is every chance that they can secure not only Champions League football but also a 3rd or 2nd place finish if they can win at least one of the games they have against the 3 others competing for the Champions League spots.
Spurs' Season Rests on 3 Games
Spurs' season rests entirely in their own hands and on 3 key games between now and the end of the season. If they maintain their excellent record at home and get points from their fixtures against Arsenal and Manchester City they will put themselves in the driving seat not just for champions League football but also for a very realistic chance of finishing in 3rd place or even second.
Our Prediction: Tottenham's consistency will help them to finish 3rd this season.
