Pundit Predictions on Chelsea vs. Arsenal

The predictions on the Chelsea vs. Arsenal match this weekend have left us a little surprised, an astonishing 70% of our pundits are backing Chelsea for the win with just 30% thinking Arsenal can get even a point.
Chelsea's Great Form
It's understandable that Chelsea a strongly backed, their 4-0 victory at Stoke last week was Stoke's heaviest defeat ever in the Premier League, which underlines exactly how good Chelsea are right now. They've won 5 of their last 7 matches and should really have gotten something from the game they lost 1-0 to QPR recently. But they do have slip ups in their game as they showed with the 2-2 draw against Southampton in midweek so perhaps the backing is a little too strong.
Whilst they've conceded just 10 goals at home their record of just 5 wins from 11 games does leave a little to be desired and should mean Arsenal are better fancied than they are.
Arsenal on The Road
Arsenal followed up a disappointing 1-1 draw away at Southampton with defeat at home to Manchester City last week which has firmly put to an end their run of good form which saw them win the previous 4 matches.
They now have to pick themselves up again to prevent Chelsea from completing the double over them which started with Chelsea's 2-1 at The Emirates earlier in the season. The odds may be stacked against them, but Chelsea's mediocre home record and Arsenal's very good away record gives them a far better chance than our pundits are suggesting.
Arsenal currently have the 5th best away record in the league having lost just twice on the road all season and conceding a league best of just 9 away goals.
Battle at The Back
This game will be decided by the performances of the respective defences and could be very tight. We think Chelsea will shade this though. With Cech back in the team and Terry likely to start again Chelsea's defence will be world class again, whilst the suspension of Koscielny is likely to force Mertesacker back in to the team and where he's involved, the slow response and lack of pace will lead to game changing errors in Chelsea's favour.
Our Prediction: Chelsea win by a narrow margin
