Everton vs. Tottenham - Predictions from 9,000 Players

Posted on Nov 3rd, 2013 by Jim Walker

Everton have looked stunning under Martinez so far this season whilst Tottenham are being considered as realistic title contenders so the clash at Goodison Park could be mouthwatering. The majority of our pundits are backing a draw with Everton the slight favourites to grab all 3 points.

Everton have won 5 of their last 6 games and come in to this game in fine form. Their passing and ball retention has been exceptional this season and with a 1-0 win over Chelsea amongst their results they have shown they still have what it takes to take big points off big teams.

They have pace and power in attack so they can score past a very tight Tottenham defence but 4 of their 9 opponents so far this season have scored 2 or more past them so they could be on the receiving end too.

Tottenham's season has been built on an excellent defence. They've kept a league leading 6 clean sheets from 9 games this season and conceded only once on the road.

With a team like Everton the clean sheet will have to be hard earned as the Toffee's are potent in attack and likely to have a lot of chances.

The concern for Tottenham has been the lack of goals. 9 in 9 games is less than half of what the likes of Arsenal have managed so if Tottenham want to take anything from this game they will have to do something that they've managed in only 2 games this season, and that is to score 2 or more goals.

Our Prediction
Tottenham will have to rely on their tight defence if they want to take anything from this game, but with Everton having pace and power in their attack that could be a tall order.

We expect Everton to score, but their own defence might mean that a goal shy Tottenham team will get on the score sheet too but they're unlikely to go on a goal rampage and get the 2 or more they'll need to win the game so we're going for a score draw at Goodison.
